people like to say they are “there for you”
for the benefit of their own egos.
they don’t really want to be there for you,
& they won’t be.
they just enjoy watching pretty things go up in flames.
this is why we have fireworks on the 4th of July.
people don’t want to be around
to be burned by the hot ashes
as they fall to the ground.
they just want to sit back &
watch the chemicals explode.
